The conference programme is repeated on both days of the event. These walk-in-walk-out sessions will allow you to pick and choose the sessions you would like to attend and the day(s) you would like to attend them on. This will give you the opportunity to attend some of the technical workshops and valuable networking time with exhibitors.
MCERTS 2011 conference
The main conference at MCERTS 2011 will focus on the forthcoming regulation in the new Industrial Emissions Directive, Operator Monitoring Assessments and MCERTS.
Advances in EN14181 – Quality Assurance of Automatic Measuring Systems including regarding UKAS accreditation along with functional test requirements from the perspective of the regulators.
Practical considerations of the application of EN15259 - Requirements for measurement sections and sites and for the measurement objective, plan and report has been one of the most influential standards to be published will be discussed.

- The Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) was published on 6th January 2011. It represents the first major change in European legislation since the IPPC Directive was published in 1996.It will replace seven existing Directives including those for IPPC, Large Combustion Plant, and Waste Incineration.
- The presentation will provide an outline of the IED and highlight some of the more significant changes including the future critical role for BREFs and the challenges facing operators of large combustion plants.

- Operator Monitoring Assessment
- The Future of Regulation from 2013

- Operator Monitoring Assessment (OMA) has been used successfully by the Environment Agency for several years. Version 3 was introduced in April 2009 and included discharges to water for the first time. The next version of OMA is currently being considered. This presentation will concentrate on the potential updates/modifications being considered and how OMA will be used in the future.

- UKAS in conjunction with the Environment Agency including input from the STA have completed the pilot programme to award ISO/IEC 17025 and MCERTS accreditation for testing laboratories performing QAL2 and AST work to BS EN 14181:2004. This presentation will also include exactly what is covered under the accreditation along with those areas that are not.

- The functional-tests required by EN 14181 - specifications and experience

- EN 14181 specifies a set of functional tests that have to be performed on CEMs annually. Annex A in EN 14181 describes the requirements for each test. This presentation describes: how the Environment Agency has applied these requirements; who may perform the tests; how the tests need to be performed; what guidance is available; the relationship between the functional tests and the new accreditation scheme for EN 14181; and how the experience gained in performing the functional tests has helped develop the national approach.

- MCERTS and EN15267 – Certification of AMS (QAL1)
- The EN 15267 series of standards provide a complete system for approval testing and certification (QAL 1) of AMS which is valid throughout Europe. The presentation at hand will describe the current UK and German approach to obtain QAL1 certification and will especially highlight the corporation between the involved UK and German parties and the related benefits for the manufacturers.
- This presentation will also describe the possibilities and the requirements to transfer already existing certifications to the current EN 15267 scheme.
